AAPS is not a highly credible organization and their research and papers have been widely criticized.
The test referenced was performed with 4 patients and lacks any detail on the controls for testing. The interpretation of the test was misleading as their results show the effectiveness but they interpreted it incorrectly and ended with a statement that they don’t know if masks reduce the trajectory of the droplets or what other types of masks they could test or whether there is a decrease in transmission from suspected or asymptomatic people. Though, it doesn’t matter as the article and its findings were retracted.
